How we use your financial donations

Any money given goes towards buying stock to fill our parcels, and paying for the ongoing running costs of the food bank to also help us welcome and support those we meet.

We recognise that people using the food bank also really need advice and ongoing support to address the crisis they are in and prevent an ongoing reliance on crisis food support.

As well as food the food bank team aim to give people a welcome, a cuppa, a listening ear and signposting towards further support.  We have a paid trained advisor from North Yorkshire Citizens Advice and Law Centre providing on the spot, holistic support to address the person's crisis and offer ongoing support in all our sessions and over the phone to those unable to get to us and needing delivery.

We work closely with Christians Against Poverty and have a debt centre running alongside us offering free face to face debt advice, we offer budgeting help through the CAP money coaching course and have excellent links with the CAP job club.

The Church runs a cafe space alongside the Foodbank called Renew this is a space where it is 'ok to not be ok'.  Welcome, refreshments, hobbies and a prayer space are part of what happens here.  Many of of our food bank visitors also benefit from this space.

Supporting us financially enables us to keep all this going.
